“I couldn’t have found something easier to connect and at the same time, so compatible with my spasticity!”

I am a handbike athlete and a very practical woman with an extremely dynamic life. I cover an average of 30,000 km per year by car, 10,000 km by handbike and 2,000 km by Klick. For me, it is essential to organise my schedule in such a way that I can manage my time and effort in the best possible way while keeping an eye on environmental sustainability. That’s why I have chosen Klick: I can move around quickly, without having to use my car for journeys within a radius of 3/5 km, I save time and energy to devote time to training. Also, before a race, I protect my body from fatigue so that I can give my best in the competition. I haven’t yet found something more compatible with my spasticity and at the same time, as simple to connect as the Klick . I don’t miss a chance to enjoy a relaxed and carefree ride because I can effortlessly and safely overcome any road surface

On board of my Hybrid ther are endless possibilities of new destinations

Holding the pedals of my new Hybrid was already giving me a feeling of freedom. And then I was no longer obliged to look at the road, a metre ahead of me, in order not to lose my balance like I used to do when I was bending over on sticks or my walker. At last I could ‘run’ with my eyes turned upwards. Whilst riding my Klick Hybrid I lost myself in the depths of the sky above me, melting my gaze and everything behind my eyes. A first timid hand pedal stroke was immediately followed by a more daring one. I pedalled effortlessly and the bike moved forward while the trees stretched into the shapes they took in the deformation of speed. I was so surprised at how easy and spontaneous it was for me to cut through the air that I didn’t realise I was leaving Daniela, my wife, too far behind. So I had to contain my euphoria and slow down to enjoy all the pleasure of that ride that seemed like a miracle. I was breathing in all that blue with her by my side talking to me, listening to her and pedalling as if it were the most natural thing, what an irrepressible joy. “On board” of my Hybrid I felt like the first time I drove a car: the same sense of freedom, the same awareness of having my life in the palm of my hand and an endless possibility of new destinations. At that moment I realised that nothing would ever be the same again. At one point we met a couple of cyclists who waved at us, attracted by my vehicle. I felt very proud. Finally a look at me that didn’t make me feel like an alien, but rather a person who arouses curiosity: I was riding my unusual bike!!!!
A few days later I went for a ride alone. How long had it been since I had been alone in the company of my thoughts? So lost in my noisy silence, I listened to the sounds of nature, which for the first time really sounded like the most beautiful music in the world.
I have already covered more than 4000 km with my Hybrid. Every time I use it, I feel that I am part of the whole, I dream of reaching any place, together with my fellow musicians, with everything we need to play music inside our trolleys, set up a simple and spartan scene and tell, play… maybe even dance. I am a musician and I remain a dreamer

I use the Klick every day, it gives me freedom and allows me to tackle any type of route

Since 2004, I have been using a wheelchair due to a collision with my opponent during a football match. From that moment on, I began to separate the past from the present and to call the present life a “second half”. In this second half, I have realised new goals: I got married, set up an association “Oltre il Muro” through which I raise awareness and offer support for the removal of architectural barriers. I have also become president of the Campo Nogarese football team! I have told my story and how I face my days to more than 10,000 children, I show them my Klick, which I use equipped with tetra adaptations, making them understand how much technology is a support and help in everyday life and how personally, thanks to the Klick, I am freer, I move easier and overcome any path and I am more autonomous. Among my hobbies, a place of honour is definitely given to cooking with the barbecue: cooking for friends has now become almost a weekend occupation. I share my life and my passion with Paola and Muttley, the smartest and gluttonous dog there is!

Klick gives me the independence that has always been the strength of my character!

I love to travel, and ever since I was a child I have visited the length and breadth of Italy and Europe with my family. Nowadays I prefer to travel together with my friends, but if it happens, I don’t hesitate to go alone. Due to an illness, I prefer to use a wheelchair for long journeys. In order to increase my independence and to be able to travel comfortably and safely on all kinds of journeys, I have attached the Klick to my wheelchair. It gives me the independence that has always been the strength of my character! My passion for travelling also gave me the idea of sharing my experiences with people who, like me, have special needs. I have therefore created a blog www.michelecelebrin.com in which I describe, tell, inform and write about the cycle routes in my beloved and beautiful region, Veneto, and also about my travels in Europe and around the world. I am also a sports enthusiast and between skiing, tennis, surfing and sailing, I really don’t know which I prefer. I got into sailing when I discovered the Hansa boats, which have both mainsail and jib and above all they can’ t capsize. What I like about these boats is that they are “for everyone” without any distinction. In my blog I also talk about the sports I practice and provide information.

In 2019 I won gold at the Eurosurf Adaptive in Portugal and picked up the medal with my Klick!

I was born in Livorno, in 1976. Since I was a child, you could say I’ve been passionate about surfing and cooking. In fact, I graduated from hotel management school and at the age of 21 I was working in the Philippines as an international chef. In 2005, due to a serious motorbike accident, I had become a wheelchair user. I have always dedicated myself to sports activities. In 2010 I was playing wheelchair tennis with SIL (Sport Insieme Livorno). I’ve always had surfing in my heart, and that’s how I got the desire to try again. I started to build myself a board suited to my new situation, in the true sense of “bare hands”, and I went back to surfing!
In 2015 I founded the association “Happy Wheels A.s.d.”, which deals with sporting activities, mapping and geolocation of accessible places and designing barrier-free tourist routes.
In 2016 the association “Surf4all Project” was founded, and I have been a member since then. In the meantime, I have become a qualified ISA first level adaptive instructor, and within the association I work with other members to spread the practice of surfing and adapted SUP. I am a competitive surfer and often leave for training sessions that take me to fly overseas. To get around independently, I use Klick, which sometimes helps me “pull” the surfboard trolley! I admit that I don’t pay much attention to the Klick, and yet it has never left me ‘stranded’. It’s robust, almost indestructible and reliable.

I travel frequently and the autonomy that Klick offers me is unparalleled!

I have lived in London for many years and I am a journalist. I got to know Klaxon’s Klick models when the company was in its early stages. What struck me about Klick was the ease and speed of engagement and disengagement. Klick has represented an incredible improvement in the quality of my daily life. With Klick I can take public transport because it’s compact and moves in very small spaces. Or I can reach my destinations without having to travel by car or public transport.
My job also requires me to travel frequently and the autonomy that the Klick offers me is unparalleled. Wherever I have been with the KLICK I have always attracted the attention of the people I have met, and requests for information are the order of the day.

With my Klick I can move easily around the track and I never miss a race!

Born in Germany in 1972, I have been a motocross rider for the most prestigious motorbike manufacturers: Honda, Kawasaki and KTM and participated in the Motocross World Championship from 1989 until 2003, the year that marked the end of my career on two wheels, after a bad accident I became a wheelchair user. Today, I am in charge of the racing department for KTM.

It was a teammate who told me about the Klick for the first time. Trying it out was an incredible surprise.

I was born in 1986 in Venice. I define the first years of my life as “normal”, since I was a child I was lucky enough to travel a lot, even now I am a passionate traveller. I have always loved sport, I played football, I skied, I practised karate and I swam. When I was nine years old, I noticed that I was getting tired much earlier than others and that my heels no longer supported me. Muscular dystrophy of the caterpillars was the diagnosis, with the unacceptable consequence that I would soon be in a wheelchair due to the constant weakening of my legs and arms. I could not rest! I was thirteen years old, and as every year in winter I was on a ‘skiing holiday’. I arrived on the slopes, but immediately realised that something was wrong. In spite of all my efforts, my feet no longer reacted. From then on, every day that went by was one more setback. At the age of sixteen, I no longer played any sports, and the difficulties in moving around increased, but I could not accept using a wheelchair. I tormented myself with the “classic” questions: why me? What was my fault? I thought about my life in a wheelchair all day, I was distressed.
I couldn’t accept the idea of doing all my things sitting down! Fortunately, the weakening came about gradually, and I postponed the use of the wheelchair for quite a few years. But by the age of 29, the wheelchair had become my daily routine. Above all, I had changed my point of view and was thinking more about myself, thinking about what I could still do, about what I liked. Among my dreams was the midnight sun in the North Cape, Norway. No sooner said than done, in 2016, alone I set off! I told my experience on a social page “Manuel la soluzione c’è”. It’s really true that when you least expect it, the best things happen, one above all Veronica, a wonderful woman who stole my heart. My love for her and the way she spoke transformed me. Veronica used to tell me: “After all, being in a wheelchair is not the end of the world! You can still do many things, all of them, even the sports you love so much”. From that moment on I haven’t stopped: paragliding, wakeboarding, sailing, canoeing, skiing, karate and I’m in the “Black Lions Venezia” electric wheelchair hockey team. Sport has taught me that the difficulties of life are like games, they are challenges to one’s own limits and one must always put everything back into play, because there are no certainties of winning only the commitment to do one’s best. It was a teammate who told me about the Klick for the first time. Trying it out was an incredible surprise. Finally without any help I could attach it and release it, put it in my car and go. The best thing was that it freed me up and I didn’t feel like a ‘burden’ anymore. What a thrill to walk hand in hand with Veronica. With the Klick all my dreams became more concrete. So I set off on a new solo trip: ‘Venezia – Roma in un Klick’. It was an incredible journey, which severely tested my physical strength, my endurance and my willpower. 800 kilometres of narrow roads, winding paths and comfortable cycle paths in 8 days. Today I am recounting my experience and sharing my ‘little big victories’ with the children I meet in schools. I try to explain, that the wheelchair is not the problem per se, and with new technologies, you can be really autonomous and do everything you want. If I look back, I realise that the years I spent in the wheelchair were a real surprise and very intense with emotions. I discovered that I am a guy who never gives up. I can only be good at summarising when I try my hand at my great passion: “video editor”, then I “cut”!

‘Klick’s on way’ initiative to share the experience of pilgrimage and of using the Klick electric propulsion system!

I was born in 1978 and graduated as a geometrician, but I have always worked in the IT sector, mainly for computer networks at the airport. In 2021 I founded the association “Free Wheels onlus”, which deals mainly with route mapping and accessibility. I have personally covered more than 9000 km in a wheelchair and on a handbike. After having covered part of the Camino de Santiago, I decided to collect all the important information for people like me who use a wheelchair and to summarise it in a guidebook ‘Santiago per tutti’. In 2020, during a very long stay in hospital, I was asked to collect my thoughts for a publication. And so my book ‘Per chi vuole, non c’è destino’ was born. a sort of biography with my thoughts. Also in 2020, together with a group of dear friends, we started the ‘Klick’s on way’ initiative to share the experience of pilgrimage and of using the Klick electric propulsion system. I currently work for the publishing house Terre di Mezzo.
